1. Ewan Mathers Photography

Address: Ewan Mathers – Photographer, The Melting Pot, 15 Calton Rd
Phone: +447941548214
Business hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
When choosing a wedding photographer, I wanted someone whose work captures the heart and soul of each moment. Ewan Mathers delivered exactly that. My husband and I were thrilled with our wedding album, which truly brought our day back to life.
We discovered Ewan through a friend who highly recommended him. I called immediately, and luckily, he was available for our date—though he’s often booked months in advance.
Ewan is great at both indoor and outdoor shoots, using minimal, non-intrusive lighting, which keeps venues clutter-free. His style leans slightly darker, which I loved, but it might not suit everyone’s taste.
Packages start with 1.5-hour sessions for just £175, extending to full-day coverage at £1,175. Rates vary based on guest count, number of looks, wedding duration, and special requests such as a photobook.
Additionally, you’ll receive a secure online gallery to easily share photos with friends, family, and guests.
Captures what you ask for
“I contacted Ewan to do a photoshoot for my client, and from start to finish his communication was so consistent and helpful. I told him exactly what I needed from the shoot and when the photos were sent to me he had captured everything I asked for perfectly. My client also commented that he was very lovely and put her at ease. When the opportunity arises I will be using Ewan’s services again.”

Gets the job done
“While we only gave Ewan 1 week of notice, he captured our party absolutely perfectly. We’re so thrilled he was able to join us and extremely impressed by how quickly he was able to get the final edits through to us – 3 days! We would highly recommend him as an event photographer. Thank you Ewan!”

2. Fern Photography

Address: 2a Broughton Pl
Phone: +447979029740
Business hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Fern Photography was my best friend’s top choice for her wedding, and she couldn’t say enough great things about them. Their style is vibrant, natural, and truly fun! Founders Dan and Matt blend in seamlessly, capturing candid moments so discreetly that you’ll hardly notice they’re there.
They cover everything from elopements to grand ballroom weddings in Edinburgh, preferring eco-friendly transport, so travel to distant locations may come with extra fees and planning time.
Unlike standard packages, Fern Photography charges by the hour with a 2-hour minimum at £200 per hour, which is ideal for shorter events but requires a bigger budget for full-day coverage.
The photos turned out beautifully—high-quality, colourful, and perfectly candid, even in low light.
If you’re planning a wedding with a vibrant, colourful theme, I highly recommend booking Dan and Matt. While they excel with smaller weddings and elopements, their portfolio for larger events is equally impressive!
Great attention to detail
“Matt did the photos for our wedding, as well as 2 lots of family photos as our family has grown. He’s a great photographer, taking really beautiful, natural, colourful photos every time. Very good at putting us at ease to get nice relaxed photos. We’ve always had very professional service from Fern, great communication. I highly recommend it!”

Professional and helpful photographer
“We were very happy having chosen Fern Photography for our wedding photos. The whole experience felt personal, relaxed and well-organised from the start. On the day itself, Matt fitted right in, made everyone feel comfortable and somehow managed to take wonderful photos of a bunch of people who are usually quite shy around a camera. Thanks so much!”

Very creative with photos
“Kris, provided a top class service for our special day. He joined the bride early at her suite and later came to the groom’s location before joining us at the venue for the wedding, reception and early in to the evening. His natural personality relaxes those around him. Great attention to detail whilst working at a speed you don’t feel your time is being imposed on. Creative with his photos. He had us work with him for some photos on locations that made us laugh as they not what we expected, They did however create a fun atmosphere and the end resulting photos were great. Would recommend Kris to anyone.”

Perfect for relaxed, candid photography
“We had an intimate wedding in beautiful South Queensferry on 1st June 2024. I booked Kris Soul Photography several months before as he offered a package for smaller weddings. Communication leading up to our day was great, with all our questions answered promptly. On the day our photographer Peter was just wonderful. He was fun, energetic and so obliging. And when our images arrived a few weeks later we were delighted. We wanted relaxed, candid photography that caught the joy of our day and we got that and so much more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5*”

Clients leave happy
“We worked with Ryan and Lina for our wedding photos and simply cannot recommend them enough! Everything you could ask for in wedding photographers and more – engaging, professional, talented, organized etc. etc. Before the wedding they were prompt and easy to work with and day of it simply felt like having two easy friends along for the ride. Lina also had some helpful day-of tips and tricks and overall both made the day a success – and that’s before mentioning the actual photos themselves! Simply stunning. We were so relaxed with them and they captured our day and our guests in ways such that everyone is still talking about our photography team and how beautiful our photos are. Cannot recommend Ryan White Photography enough!”

5. Anna Urban Photography

Phone: +447923428337
Business hours: By appointment
If you’re a big photography fan, then surely you’ll know how special shooting weddings will be when a photographer uses a 35 mm film camera. This is one of the specialities of Anna Urban Photography.
35 mm film cameras work differently in the sense that the camera itself is vintage. The format uses film that results in greater depth and detail to the final image when processed.
Anna Urban’s use of old photography techniques gives wedding shoots a different edge because it shows the technical skill of the photographer to manipulate the scene, setting, and exposure manually.
She also offers regular wedding photography if you prefer that.
The wedding packages are on the pricier side, starting at £1,550 for small to medium weddings (elopements begin at £700), partly due to the cost of 35 mm film (£75 per roll).
Despite the price, you get great value, with packages including free downloads of edited images, a music slideshow of 40–65 photos, and an online gallery to share with family and friends.
Phenomenal photographer
“Anna is absolutely incredible at what she does!!! She captured both a (surprise) engagement and our wedding. Couldn’t be happier with our photos! I feel like I’m reliving the day every time I flip through the album. She captured the perfect mix of candid shots and posed shots, which is exactly what we were hoping for. And she captured so many special moments of all our family members. So happy all around. Highly recommend Anna!”
